PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
It is very important that you understand that your scheduled lesson time is 30 minutes or 60 minutes and what you do during that time is up to you. If you are late, the lesson fee is the same for that scheduled time frame. Please be on time so that your tardiness does not cut into your valuable lesson time! To maximize your learning time, please allow enough time before your scheduled lesson time to acclimate your equine to our facility for truck ins, grooming time to harness in or tack up, mount or be seated on the box and warmed up.
Some students have found that notes from their lesson or a written lesson plan following their lesson is a very valuable tool. It allows them something to refer to, guidance and a foundation with building block in working towards a goal. We are happy to provide this service for a fee of $15.00. Lesson plans and notes are generally emailed but can be mailed or provided at the next lesson.
24 hour cancellation notice appreciated. No charge if lesson is rescheduled otherwise lesson fee will apply.
Proper attire is required. All students must wear an approved helmet, gloves and proper footwear. If riding breeches are required. A whip is required for driving.
You are responsible for purchasing your own necessary equipment that you need for your use. Please do not ask us if you can borrow our equipment as we tend to forget who has what and you do not want to feel guilty if you break it or damage it!
POLICY REGARDING YOUNG ADULTS
The safety of your child is our top priority. No one wants to see a child injured or lose their confidence around equines. Adherence to this policy will be strictly enforced or the privileges will be removed. The policy also give your child a proper horsemanship foundation to build upon.
1) No running on the farm anywhere. Walk at all times.
2) Proper footwear is to be worn at all times. No bare feet, stocking feet, flip flops, etc. Old farm with lots of nails. Getting stepped on without proper footwear is painful enough without adding improper footwear into the mix.
3) No feeding the equines. We do not hand feed our equines and we want to keep little fingers in tact.
4) Children must be accompanied by an adult and be under adult supervision at all times. Children are not allowed to wander off alone unsupervised.
5) Children are responsible for picking up after themselves and need to keep things neat, tidy and organized.
6) Children need to ask first before getting into anything on their own.
